Engineering Technician
An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Engineer with Electrical Qualifications and Mechanical skills to be responsible for the day to day maintenance of all plant and machinery at Wakefield Processing and Distribution Centre.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Coordinator, the successful candidate will work within a small but dedicated team and be responsible for completion of comprehensive annual work schedules to test and inspect electrical and mechanical equipment for safety whilst maintaining accurate records of the results. Carrying out repairs, small works and installations will also be part of the role as will the liaison with internal Managers and relevant external contractors.
A flexible approach to working is essential as there will be various times throughout the year when you will be required to cover sickness and holidays.
Where production and maintenance needs arise, you will also be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
The ideal candidate will be an apprentice served electrician and possess the following:-
Minimum City and Guilds Part (1) in electrical engineering
A working knowledge of 3 phase and single supplies
17th / 18th Edition IEE regulations
Knowledge of conveyor plc controls and DC drives
Pneumatics and Hydraulic systems an advantage but not critical
At least 3 years experience in a similar hands on role.
