Head of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality - Northampton, Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire
Reporting to the Technical Services Director, the purpose of this role is to lead the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities within the UK business by continually improving, controlling and managing current and new legislative matters to ensure that the Company complies within the statutory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
* Actively control/manage processes to minimise legal, statutory and commercial risks to the business and keep abreast of current & new legislative matters. * Manage the Integrated Management system (IMS) that includes ISO 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environmental), OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety) MHRA requirements (Healthcare) BRC (Food) and AEO (Custom clearance) and other additional regulatory requirements specified by the customer. Also being competently qualified and experience to achieve additional certification at sites seeking accreditation. * To provide specialist Knowledge to the CMC and SHEQ regulatory bodies to mitigate prosecutions and ensure the Company complies with all legislation in this area. * Drive continuous improvement regarding all aspects of SHEQ to show measurable year on year improvements to mitigate accidents, improve energy efficiency and enhance kaizen process control best practice. * Report process performance and legal compliance matters to the business to improve quality control, accidence levels and carbon reduction strategies to improve efficiency and mitigate risk of non-conformance activity. Thus, creating a strong SHEQ culture throughout the company to achieve company objectives and core values.
Key Skills
* Demonstrable experience in a SHEQ management role at a senior level, preferably within Logistics, multi-site environment. * Fully qualified in NEBOSH or CMIOSH Chartered Practitioner/ Registered Safety practitioner. * Registered Auditor in ISO 9001, 14001, or OHSAS 18001. Dangerous good safety advisor. HACCP Trained. * Essential memberships in IOSH/ MIEMA/ or qualification to demonstrate competence/knowledge.
